Bible Verses About Grief
The Bible does not rush grief — an entire book, Lamentations, sits inside it without resolving to comfort until its final chapters.
Grief verses collected here include lament, not just comfort — the psalms of complaint, Jesus weeping at a friend's tomb even though he was about to raise him, and the promise of a day when grief itself ends rather than a promise that it will not be felt now.

Questions about grief
Is it biblical to grieve, or should Christians only feel hope?
Scripture makes room for both — John 11:35 shows Jesus weeping moments before raising Lazarus, and an entire book (Lamentations) is devoted to grief — so grief and hope are treated as compatible, not contradictory.
